Heirloom Tomato Burrata Salad with Pesto

It’s beginning to look a lot like summer.

The trees are green, the flowers are blooming, the sky is blue and the sun is shining outdoors. I love summer. It’s my season, and it’s not only the weather and nature around us that has changed - but so has the food. I got the chance of trying out various delicious and beautiful heirloom tomatoes, of various colors and sizes. The flavor was absolutely amazing, and you can literally be snacking on these tomatoes just like they are due of its amazing natural taste itself. But if you want to step-it-up just a little bit extra and make it a bit more luxurious, please let me show you this tomato and burrata salad/ plate.

It’s so simple to make a luxurious plate like this and you only need these ingredients:

  • Various heirloom tomatoes, preferably in different sizes and colors

  • Green pesto

  • Fresh basil

  • Sea salt

  • High quality olive oil

  • Green and black olives

  • Preferably burrata cheese, but mozzarella works too

  • Fresh baked loaf pan bread of optional kind

Heirloom Tomato Burrata Salad

INGREDIENTS:

Various heirloom tomatoes of various size and color.

3-4 tbsp green pesto

Olive oil

Sea Salt

Fresh Basil

Green and Black Olives

1-2 burrata cheeses

A few slices of loaf bread

How to make:

  • Simply slide various heirloom tomatoes of various sizes and colors. Place on a plate or tray.

  • Garnish with pesto, a little bit of olive oil, sea salt and fresh basil. Add green and black olives, and burrata cheese too if you like.

  • Slice some bread, grill in a grill pan and top with olive oil and sea salt when done. Serve to the tomatoes.
